Pete Bernardoni, Managing Director

Pete brings 19 years of venture capital experience to Wavepoint and is responsible for managing the firm's medical technology portfolio. He has been personally involved with investments in more than 30 companies and more than 100 transactions while serving on more than 20 boards of directors.

Prior to Wavepoint, Pete directed a team of investment professionals at Technology Funding, a $315 million family of funds. Pete was responsible for deal flow generation, due diligence, deal structuring, and portfolio company management, taking the lead in the financial analysis of key investment opportunities while maintaining responsibility for ongoing oversight of several portfolio companies in the life sciences and technology sectors.

Before joining Technology Funding in 1988, Pete held several senior positions at IBM, including managing a team of system engineering and marketing personnel that targeted key pharmaceutical, hospital, and high-technology accounts. He began his career as a design engineer in IBM's mainframe disk drive division.

Pete has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Santa Clara.
